Nokia N900
Maemo 5
Version 2.2009.51-1

"Pidgin protocols plugin for Conversations and Contacts"
Version 0.8

1. Each GaduGadu entry in each contact has to be manually "bound" to GaduGadu account
This should happen automatically or at least with a single option for all contacts with GaduGadu entries

2. Once the Contact entry has been bound to GaduGadu account the presence information is handled properly

3. As soon as network connection changes or gets temporarily broken the presence is not displayed any more (but the contact informations seems to still be bound with the GaduGadu account)

4. After reboot all contact entries have to be MANUALLY, EACH at a time bound to the GaduGadu account... till next network problem or reboot.

If you would like to get some early patches tested, please let me know.

This is an issue with the Maemo address book, not with these plugins (the same thing happens for unbound Jabber items in contacts, for instance). One reason the address book doesn't behave like this is that you can have more than one account for a service — how would it choose the right one?

One could probably write a "bind-all" application built on libosso-abook.

I think these are probably actually the same issue — if the contacts are becoming unbound when you restart, the address book is getting confused. This part is a duplicate of bug #26435.

But in that case why build-in e.g. gtalk work correctly, and gg-haze not?
How do you think, will the same issue be present with telepathy-sunshine?
