Description Dave Gilbert 2010-03-28 07:07:51 UTC
Lucid with xorg-edgers kernel: 2.6.32-17-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP Sat Mar 20 02:23:45 UTC 2010 x86_64

xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.12.192+git20100324.53ac0616-0ubuntu0sarvatt X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI Radeon display driver

ii xserver-xorg 1:7.5+3ubuntu1 the X.Org X server

I've just had a (non-repeatable) X crash; X locked up (but the server was still running); gdb attaching showed:

#13 0x00000000004260f5 in _start ()

(that wasn't the 1st gdb attach, but it was staying about the same on every call).

I think I'd just closed Quadrapassel while watching a youtube video in chromium.

The flash player was crashing a bit more than normal; I noticed a bunch of :

[12426.115146] [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation !
[12504.204112] [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation !
[12504.220077] [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Failed to parse relocation !

in the logs.

It's also very sluggish redrawing the chromium window - except the flash; feels quite draggy.

This is an RV710 (HD 4350) on an i7-860.

The 'failed to parse relocation' seem to have come back after a reboot with a bit of video playing; so it looks like a regression to me within the last couple of days.

looks similar to #26394.
Comment 3 Alex Deucher 2010-03-28 09:47:17 UTC
There are two separate bugs here. The relocation parsing failure is likely a dup of bug 27284

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
