The patch soren.sandmann: 6.8-branch?

Description Søren Sandmann Pedersen 2005-03-16 13:59:43 UTC
See

    https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144022

The approach I suggested there (check if the area is actually visible)
is not going to fix anything that a simple check for viewability won't
because the cursor already gets removed when an area below it gets damaged,
even if that area is not visible.

The patch I'm attaching has already been committed to HEAD, but it's a safe
change so I'm nominating it for 6.8.3.

The fix that is applied in CopyArea should also be applied in CopyPlane.

This doesn't seem to fix the issue completely for me. I'm using 6.8.2 with the
patch applied to both functions. and I still see the software cursor (using
Xcursor redglass theme) flickering when an xterm is scrolling under the active
window.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
