Description Guillaume Desmottes 2010-04-19 02:01:07 UTC
On some protocols (MSN and Yahoo at least), you can't send messages longer than $MAX_SIZE. We should have API telling that to clients.

Would it be nicer to UIs if the CMs for these protocols quietly split up the messages, like telepathy-idle does?
Comment 2 Guillaume Desmottes 2010-04-19 04:52:36 UTC
I guess that could be an acceptable solution.
Comment 3 Simon McVittie 2010-11-08 08:44:31 UTC
Relatedly: in SMS there's a character-count limit, but using Unicode "costs" more characters than ASCII, and splitting the message costs you more money. :-(
