Description Branden Robinson 2005-03-25 23:01:18 UTC
This is Debian #282080.

The original submitter, "Rudolf Dovicin" <rudolf.dovicin@rediffmail.com>, did
quite a bit of homework.

XaaNoPixmapCache partially mitigates the problem; NoAccel completely mitigates it.

None of XaaNoCPUToScreenColorExpandFill, XaaNoScreenToScreenColorExpandFill,
XaaNoScanlineCPUToScreenColorExpandFill, or XaaNoOffcreenPixmaps appear to
mitigate it at all, and I don't know what else to recommend to the submitter.

This was filed against Debian's XFree86 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8 packages, but a quick
look at freedesktop.org CVS tells me pretty much nothing has changed in the i740
driver code since 4.3.0 was imported.

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

If this is still an issue, it doesn't look like it will be fixed, especially
since there is a workaround. Please reopen if you can provide a patch.
