Description Ritesh Raj Sarraf 2010-06-05 01:22:01 UTC
Given that udisks is supposed to supersede hal, I would like to request feature parity with hal.

laptop-mode-tools is the consumer of hal for one of the features. hal-disable-polling.
lmt calls hal-disable-polling to disable polling on cdrom drives.

The same does not seem to be possible with udisks because udisks --inhibit-polling will not exit without manual intervention. A CTRL + C is required.

Will it be possible to call udisks and expect it to exit immediately with an exit status ?

Transition to udisks is currently stalled for lmt.

Polling is now handled by the kernel (has been for a while) so closing.
