Description Keyzer Suze 2010-07-05 00:46:20 UTC
Hi

I am using a patched i915 from https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28070. debian sid 2.6.34-1 amd64.

when i do a pm-suspend and then restart (doesn't matter if I start in X mode or one of the TTY's), upon restore I can't bring up the display - the machine is working.

I can goto to tty1 login as root, restart gdm - which will fail if there is no external monitor.

If I have an external minitor, gdm will restart and I can use xrandr to enable the laptop panel...

Hi Keyzer,

can you attach the Xorg.log following the suspend & resume that fails to restore the display, and the Xorg.log for failing to restart gdm, and the one for starting with an external monitor and then using xrandr to start the panel. It might also be useful to include the dmesg for that session as well.

Once we had a chance to look at what X is reporting, we should hopefully be able to ask for more pertinent information.
