Today's git. Systemd reports hald not found (this is a hal-less system, why does the xdm service list hal as dependency?), can't mount kernel.debug and kernel.security (expected, not enabled in kernel), and then xdm service returns 1 (no other errors) and I am left with ro /. /usr isn't mounted as well and should be automounted according to fstab.
Systemd documentations are severly lacking atm, from what I picked up systemd should integrate with current /etc/init.d/ scripts. If so it isn't happening.

2.6.35 kernel
git dbus

Well, we as upstream to not maintain systemd on gentoo. We are dependent on contributor patches, and expect that Gentoo developers do the necessary integration work into their distribution if its users care for systemd.

The documentation for systemd is actually quite extensive. Have you checked the man pages?

Hmm, I did though I am nowhere closer to managing to integrate this with my system. I'll try to open a Gentoo bug but there seems to be little interest overall.
