Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component. Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch. Closing due to lack of response. Please reopen and move to the Driver/Radeon component if this issue persists with xf86-video-ati |

Created attachment 37792 [details] shar-file with Xorg.0.log, xorg.conf.new, radeonhd-session The RadeonHD driver crashes in LVDSEnable when trying to call Private->SetBacklight. This element is zero, despite Private->BlLevel is 192. Xorg was started in gdb with r -logverbose 7 -config /home/elmar/xorg.conf.new -retro The file xorg.conf.new was generated by Xorg -configure The driver radeonhd was compiled with -O0 -g Version of the driver 1.3.0 Platform is FreeBSDD 8.1, copiled in /usr/ports/x11-drivers/xf86-video-radeonhd-1.3.0 Only change was in Makefile CFLAGS=-O0 -g Maschine was a HP/Compaq nw8440 The attached file contains the X config file, the Xorg log file and a gdb session with a backtrace.
