Colours on the task bar are incorrect (should be light gray); clock not visible; update and yast icons corrupted
Apologies for the incomplete message (mis-clicked submit while adding attachment). I am using OpenSUSE 11.3, with KDE version 4.4.4. By default, the system is using nouveau driver version 0.0.15 20100401 (this is taken from the YaST repository). The video card is Quadro NVS 295. I am also attaching my XOrg.log for additional version information. If any more information is needed, please let me know. Basically, the taskbar is the only part of the screen that I've noticed so far as being corrupted (is KDE using some transparency effect there?). If I replace the driver with the proprietary one, the taskbar shows up correctly (light gray, icons are no longer corrupted). Created attachment 37838 [details]
log file that might contain additional info about the system
One more observation: The analogue clock is also corrupted from time to time (see snapshot). Again, a transparent widget... it's probably not nouveau bug, see: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224666 (In reply to comment #5) > it's probably not nouveau bug, see: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224666 Thanks Marcin! Yes, it could be a KDE problem (it defintely looks like the one described on their forum). It is probably something more subtle related to the interaction of KDE with the drivers, since: 1) It goes away if I install the proprietary NVidia drivers 2) It never occurs on my laptop with Intel graphic card I'm going to try KDE 4.5 and report back on this. Many thanks, Stefan, (In reply to comment #6) > (In reply to comment #5) > > it's probably not nouveau bug, see: > > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224666 > > Thanks Marcin! > > Yes, it could be a KDE problem (it defintely looks like the one described on > their forum). So indeed, it seems to be a KDE bug that only surfaces in conjunction with the nouveau drivers. I've closed the bug report. Thanks Marcin for the useful feedback! All the best, Stefan. |
