Description Steve Coffman 2005-04-13 07:33:41 UTC
This bug is against whatever HAL can do to facilitate USB sound cards "just
working".

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy2 NX that I would like to be able to plug in and be
configured the way I had it last configured the last time it was plugged in.
Currently, (Ubuntu 5.04) this is not the case. Although certain issues above HAL
(see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172594) and below in ALSA
(https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/main_page.php) must also be
resolved, HAL itself is a necessary component of any complete solution, as the
GNOME developers mention in their bug report above.

(bug triaging) I think HAL provides what is needed now. Otherwise please reopen.
Thanks.
