this seems to be true only for the mono version

Mono doesn't have the reverse pilcrow, so because of substition magic for the glyphs that aren't in the font, you're seeing the symbol from another font.

So this is not a bug in DejaVu, but you can make a request to include reverse pilcrow in Mono :-)
