Hey freedesktop,

I am from the Ubuntu German Translators team. In an effort to coordinate German translations in free software we want to set up a platform for exactly that on the common ground that is freedesktop.org.

The basic thing we need is a mailing list (german-translators) for translators from different distros, upstream projects etc. who are interested in a standardized German translation. I also read about hosting on freedesktop.org – it would certainly be great if we could have some for things like our list of standard translations we are working on currently at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGermanTranslators/Richtlinien/StandardÜbersetzungen

This sounds more in the line of what the translation project (http://translationproject.org/html/welcome.html) are doing rather than what fd.o is about.  Can you see if that is more appropriate, and if not, reply here and I'll see if it's on-topic or not for fdo.
