Description Rpnpif 2011-01-23 01:12:50 UTC
Now, the Libreoffice packages are included in a tar.gz file. This does not permit for an automatic update.
I request for a Libreoffice official debian formatted repositery to put in the apt source list and to allow an automatic update.
Comment 1 Rene Engelhard 2011-01-23 04:29:43 UTC
and why only for deb and not for rpm? (apt-rpm, yum, ..)?

Besides that, the official repos you mention is already there: Debian itself.
Comment 2 Rene Engelhard 2011-01-23 04:36:43 UTC
besides that, the "packages" from LibO are known not to fullfill quality at times. Missing Replaces: when files moved etc, So a apt-get upgrade there could
esily become a headache anyway

As Rene said, Debian itself sure will have LibreOffice in their official repos once LibreOffice has a stable release and the Debian packaging is ready. It can't get more official than that. Just be patient.

tml: actually it's already since November: http://packages.debian.org/experimental/libreoffice :)
