Description Martin-Éric Racine 2011-02-01 11:04:07 UTC
The original V4L support in the Linux kernel had been slated for removal for a long time and it seems that it has now happened starting with kernel 2.6.38, as spotted by Ubuntu developers:

xserver-xorg-video-geode (2.11.11-1ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/01_remove_v4l_driver.patch:
    - Don't build the 'ztv' video input driver. V4L has been removed from the
      2.6.38 kernel. Until ztv has been updated to a V4L2 driver it will not
      build or be useful.

Given this, we need to either remove the 'ztv' component or, preferably, upgrade it to V4L2 standards ASAP, before various Linux distributions start experiencing build errors with the Geode driver.

Fix committed and slated for inclusion with Geode 2.11.12.
