Description Radu Andries 2011-03-17 15:34:36 UTC
Resolution for monitor is 1680x1050.

Xorg -version
X.Org X Server 1.9.4.901 (1.9.5 RC 1)
Kernel : 2.6.38-ARCH (no patches, just logo changed)
xorg radeon from git 2011-03-04. Using gallium.

HW is a laptop acer 4820TG with intel-ati combo. It's not a regression. This never worked for me.

Intel card detects monitor correctly.

Are you using switcheroo? Does the monitor work properly when you select the discrete card in the bios? I suspect the i2c mux is not getting swapped properly when you switch between the gpus.
Comment 2 Radu Andries 2011-03-19 13:04:08 UTC
Using vga_switcheroo.

played with "xrandr --addmode" and 1680x1050 work, so it's a detection problem.

The i2c mux is not getting swapped properly when you switch between the gpus. There's probably some additional set of acpi calls needed for your system.
