Xorg server patches must be submitted to xorg-devel for review before applying: http://wiki.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/SubmittingPatches http://wiki.x.org/wiki/XServer#DevelopmentProcess Xorg server policy changes must be discussed on xorg-devel to reach consensus before adopting. Sticking this in bugzilla and not on the list basically leaves it to be considered at some unknown future date when someone decides to send it on to the list. Of course, when this is sent to the list it will be NAK'ed in it's current form, as nouveau is not available on all kernels supported by Xorg. (Hint: #ifdef linux) We know about nouveau now.
