I saw similar issue in motoya fonts resulting the mapping to Latin-1 supplement is totally messed up. and removing the cmap table for apple roman will fixes this issue. see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688692, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=698599 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=698601. Does getting rid of Apple roman cmap support in fontconfig help those bugs too? I'll work on it then. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~tagoh/fontconfig/commit/?h=bz35517&id=434b2a58ca90269d29200ccc2969ab46bb6f8973 tested the above with motoya fonts I'm facing issues and confirmed it's gone. Ping? I'm not sure how to measure if this change will badly affects to something. in other words, I don't know how many people still use non-Unicode-based fonts. I guess that may be better making the Apple Roman cmap support a deprecated option in configure and figure out to get rid of it in the future? It's just not worth it. Lets remove. BTW, Akira, can you prepare a tree with patches that you would recommend going into a new release? I can review them very quickly then. sent through email BTW Hm, I misread it. hope this is what you were expecting: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~tagoh/fontconfig/log/?h=fontconfig-2-9-pre *** Bug 27653 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Fixed in cbb6ee16. |
