Description Yichao Zhou 2011-03-29 06:05:36 UTC
The middle button scrolling means that click the middle button and then move the mouse to scroll.
In LibreOffice Writer, scrolling in the way isn't smooth and continuous. You can feel that the LibreOffice move several pixels one time.

Compared to other application on windows such as firefox and Microsoft Office, the speed of scrolling is too slow. (Maybe this isn't a bug)

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Thanks for bugreport. I confirm that scroll of document by using middle mouse button is not smooth, but line-by-line (if we would press button "Arrow down" on keyboard or scroll bar)

What about slow: intention of this function is read while text scrolls. So no sense do scrolling too fast. Speed of scrolling we can change by moving mouse (without click something, just move mouse)

I encountered this problem only today while reproducing this bug. I always use middle mouse for pasting text.

What I mean scrolling is that you click the mid button and move the mouse up and down, not just scrolling the mid button. If you compare the distance of the mouse moved and the speed to other application you will find it is really to SLOW.

Of course, smooth is another problem.

I agree

reproducible with LO 4.3.0.4 (Win 8.1), it seemed not to scroll that smooth as for instance in Firefox
