Description Danielle Madeley 2011-04-11 22:24:41 UTC
Some protocols report BLOCKED as a presence, but by default do not remove blocked contacts from their equivalent of publish and subscribe.

It would be nice to add a presence for this, at the moment the most fitting presence is UNKNOWN, which is not quite right.

This doesn't really make much sense to me. If you can't meaningfully get presence for blocked contacts, then their presence should be Unknown, and they should probably not show up on the ContactList interface (and publish/subscribe).

The ContactList interface already says that blocked contact SHOULD NOT be on the contact list if you can't get presence for them (as is the case on XMPP: if you send out presence probes, the blocked contact could tell you're online). http://telepathy.freedesktop.org/spec/Connection_Interface_Contact_List.html

Danni's dead bug closing spree.
