Created attachment 45703 [details] example 'misaligned bg' file Images with one layer partially off-canvas cause a crash. I think at some point MyPaint was saving bogus layer info, because I've got several of these. They can be 'fixed' (usually) by recentering the 'background' layer using the Align tool in GIMP. (I don't know what the exact cause is -- all I know is, the offending images can be loaded in gimp, and the background layer's positioning is offset by a large amount) The crash occurs in some kind of compositing function, btw. Example image attached.
