Description Bryce Harrington 2011-04-20 16:28:01 UTC
Forwarding this bug from Ubuntu reporter unlive:
http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/761998

[Problem]
Bad corruption in the form of line noise shows up in both the launcher and dash in Unity, which appears to only occur on -ati with certain hardware (the HD 3450 at least). Unity developers indicate they believe this is corruption in -ati / mesa rather than in the compiz rendering code.

This is probably a 3D driver bug. Are you using r600c or r600g? Possibly related to bug 36442.
Comment 5 Bryce Harrington 2011-04-21 00:27:24 UTC
r600g

OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV620
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.10.2
Comment 6 Bryce Harrington 2011-07-18 19:26:29 UTC
Any suggestions on what else could be tested?

This appears to happen in -nouveau too. Screenshot attached. What additional information do you need? I'm running xorg-edgers PPA versions of everything on Ubuntu.
Comment 8 Alex Deucher 2012-01-16 06:16:23 UTC
Is this still an issue on newer versions of r600g?
Comment 9 Marek Olšák 2014-04-13 10:58:57 UTC
Closing due to lack of feedback.
