I would like to map the Control key function to the Command / Apple key on a
Macintosh keyboard as an easily-configured option. This is especially useful
when using Mac-on-Linux (MOL) because most Mac native application commands use
the Command/Apple key in exactly the way most GNOME and KDE applications use the
control key. 

The Command/Apple key is immediately to the left of the space bar on US
Powerbook/iBook keyboards or to the left and right of the space bar on some
larger external Macintosh keyboards. I'm not sure about the layout of compact
and international keyboards.

This should be an alternative to the default keyboard layout. Not all people
installing linux on a Mac will want it.

This Macintosh-style key mapping feature exists as a feature in KDE [go to
(Keyboard) Shortcuts control module, Modifier Keys tab, "Macintosh Keyboard"
checkbox and "MacOS-style modifier usage" checkbox]. 

I am trying to understand modifying keymaps on my distro (was Debian Testing now
Ubuntu Hoary). If someone can point me to a FAQ or an example of an alternate
keymap I can try to create one and attach it here.
