Description Emmanuel Engelhart 2011-06-18 02:08:04 UTC
I'm a new and really satisfied user of telephathy-sofiasip with empathy on ubuntu.

The problem I want to report is that it is not trivial to find it:

* Package is not installed per default (should be IMO, but I understand the counter arguments)

* If you make a search (with apt-cache or in the software center with "sip", the package won't be given as a result.

* If you make a search (with apt-cache or in the software center with "sip empathy", the package won't be given as a result.

... So there is no simply way to get empathy working with SIP if you ignore that it exists such a package and that its exact name is "telephathy-sofiasip".

I propose:

* Installing telephathy-sofiasip per default with empathy

AND/OR

* Modifying the package description to get it by searching for "sip" and "sip empathy".

This is not a bug of telepathy-sofiasip as a source codebase.

Please file bugs against Ubuntu and Debian using their respective bug tracking systems.
