I don't have enough information from those bug reports to be able to reproduce this, nor to infer what the issue was or when it might have been introduced.

First question, is it still an issue? Even with experimental?

I can't reproduce it anymore in Debian Testing, neither with the SDL programs nor with Renoise. Seems to be resolved.
