Description Guillaume Desmottes 2011-08-16 02:34:40 UTC
This kind of property would be used by MC to detect when such clients are not running any more and so automatically disconnect accounts.

Both KDE and GNOME would make good use of this and it would become ever more needed once systemd will allow users to keep their user bus running without having their desktop running.
Comment 1 Simon McVittie 2011-08-16 02:37:35 UTC
As an alternative, clients that are displaying the IM status could take a well-known bus name, o.fd.T.StatusDisplayingClient or something. NameOwnerChanged signals will indicate that the name is owned, until there are no more clients in the queue with that name.
