Description Samuli Suominen 2005-08-15 12:52:00 UTC
7.0rc0:

Using Gentoo, Linux 2.6.13-rc5, and trying to compile xorg-server (gentoo -r3
version, -r1 worked)

Quoting Freenode, #xorg so show it has been replicated.

[22:36] < egore> anyone else can't build the xorg-server? It fails for me:
make[1]: *** [fbmmx.lo]
                 Error 1
[22:36] < egore> make[1]: Leaving directory
                 `/var/tmp/portage/xorg-server-0.99.1-r3/work/xorg-server-0.99.1/fb'
[22:36] < egore> make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
[22:36] < ajax> that's not enough information
[22:36] < egore> what you need more?
[22:37] < drac> egore: Do you get this: http://hdr.unk.fi/~drac/build2.txt ?
[22:37] < ajax> all that tells me is that the server stopped building. it
doesn't tell me why it
                stopped.
[22:37] < egore> drac: exactly that
[22:38] < ajax> weird, that's failing on the depend stage
[22:38] < egore> ajax: I have the same problem as drac. I can provide you
exactly the same output
[22:39] < egore> maybe we should also trigger spyderous. since that did not
happen in
                 xorg-server-0.99.1-r1 and started in 0.99.1-r2
[22:40] < drac> egore: He is aware of it, since yesterday
[22:40] < egore> drac: ah, ok
[22:41] < egore> drac: you get the error with 0.99.1-r2, too? or only with
0.99.1-r3?
[22:47] < drac> egore: using -r1, didn't try -r2, -r3 failed
[22:47] < drac> egore: filing bug as we speak (finally..)
[22:48] < egore> ok

Problem is at URL, http://hdr.unk.fi/~drac/build2.txt

I'll provide more details if asked. This is my first bug report against X, so..

As spyderous stated this is most likely because of the CVS update from 20050811
that gentoo applies.
