X.Org X Server 1.11.0 Release Date: 2011-08-26 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 x86_64 Debian Build Date: 28 August 2011 10:58:30AM xorg-server 2:1.11.0-1 (Cyril Brulebois <kibi@debian.org>) Is this a regression? What was the last build that behaved as expected? Not sure. There has been this bug like forever but maybe there was a time when it was fixed. Actually that was before input hotplug so it must be something different now. Should be possible to reproduce in a virtual machine so might be able to test ancient X servers no longer installable normally. I tried 1.7.7 and 1.10.3 in qemu. The bug cannot be reproduced because the X server crashes on reset. The cirrus driver fails when the X server is reset on an inactive terminal leading to X server quitting. The vmwgfx driver crashes instead. This is a mass change of bugs. Bugs assigned to me that haven't been updated in the last 3 years are closed as WONTFIX, because, well, let's at least be honest about it. Please do not re-open unless you have a really good reason to do so (e.g. you're fixing it yourself). If it hasn't been fixed in the last 3 years, it probably won't be fixed anytime soon either. Sorry. |
