Output after changing to pm low and back

If I loading other profils then high, I get output failures. 
The clocks seem to be correct. At the attached picture you can see the output failures at the middle of the picture.
The output failures seem to be VRAM failures I think.

I am running Arch Linux 64bit with lastest updates on Samsung R522 Aura T6400.

This Picture is taken after set profil to mid when running Gnome3.2 and switching to tty

I was running Gnome3.2 open the terminal and set the powerprofile to mid.
After that the GUI not responsing on interaction and I switcht to tty and taken the picture

The runtime of my notebook without powermanagement is decreased by 1h and the idle CPU-temperature is 20°C higher as with powermanagement!

BIOS dump of ATI Technologies Inc M96 [Mobility Radeon HD 4650], shows as Samsung_Bonn_EXT_M96M2_DDR3

I got this dump by using rhd_conntest and I can dump the tables of this BIOS ROM using AtomDis. 

I experience the same issues as the original bug reporter.

I tested for help fixing the pm bug with my HD4650 Mobility(M96) [ https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41234 ] and the problem is the memclk. I compiled two version of Kernel 3.2.0(Ubuntu 12.04 64Bit). The first without memclk and with gpuclk changing is working and the second with memclk and without gpuclk changing produce the bug.

Could you elaborate on the settings you changed? I can not find any options in the kernel source (3.4.4 vanilla) regarding memclk or gpuclk. After that I can test the fix myself.

Having got the same issue (i also have a R522 from Samsung) I workaround this problem by using the fglrx driver for daily usage. 
I ran a Test with the Kanotix CeBIT Special 2013 which has Kernel 3.8.2 and Mesa 9.1 and i found that the problem still exists.

So, the problem still exists with the current Kernel 3.8.
All Distribution now switched to xserver 1.13 and my workaround is not a solution because of the need of compiling the Kernel on every Kernel update.

Is there a developer that think he could fix it? If yes what would you need? If you are from germany I could send you my Samsung R522 for a couple of weeks maybe?
If you want some money for that we could talk about that too!

But please fix that Bug!

I did a test using current kernel 3.13 the behavior described still exists.

But it's solved since i add radeon.dpm=1 as kernel boot parameter the GPU is powermanged and my laptop run very well using the open source driver (video better than the legacy amd driver, opengl runs at least fast enough (cant feel any difference at the applications i tested))

Solution for me on my Samsung notebook: adding "radeon.dpm=1" kernel boot parameter
