Description Michael MacLeod 2004-04-05 22:25:07 UTC
A number of file types, including .avi's, .wmv's, .ppt's, and other Microsoft
related file types are getting incorrectly identified. This manifests itself
when I want to open a file in nautilus, which sees the file as a "Microsoft
Video File" or whatever is appropriate until the moment I click on it, and then
it changes it's file type and gets mightily confused.

Which version of shared mime info are you using ? Avis being detected as riff
files should be fixed in the 0.14 release.

Well, how 'bout that. It works now. My distro's shared-mime-info port was
0.13... Sorry to waste your time, and thanks for the response.
