Hmm. I registered for a jabberes.org account (namely wjt@jabberes.org); I can sign in perfectly happily with Gabble 0.13.7 using GnuTLS, and Gabble master using OpenSSL. In both cases, the SCRAM-SHA-1 mechanism is being selected, just like it is for you. What does `mc-tool show gabble/jabber/gnucompumonster_40jabberes_2eorg` produce? If it includes your password, try running `mc-tool update gabble/jabber/gnucompumonster_40jabberes_2eorg clear:password` and reconnecting. I also tested with a password containing accented characters, and a password containing a Unicode snowman; both worked. If you password does contain non-ASCII characters, it's possible it could be an issue with UTF-8 normalization, so it would be useful to know whether that's the case. (In reply to comment #1) > Hmm.
