This is not really a bug, rather a feature request:

Ludovic Rousseau has made pcsclite ready for socket activation by systemd: see http://ludovicrousseau.blogspot.com/2011/11/pcscd-auto-start-using-systemd.html

I would like to suggest that you integrate his pcscd.service and pcscd.socket files into systemd.

Cheers,
Christoph

The unit files are shipped by the pcsc-lite project itself as they should be.
We don't put unit files of all existing daemons into systemd.

Seems that my distro somehow does not ship those files with the package. I have made a bug report there: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/27407

However, of course you are right: There is no use providing the two files if they are provided by pcsclite itself. I even checked, if the files are within the package (and wondered that they were not) - next time I will check the original package, too. I am sorry about the noise.

Cheers,
Christoph
