I Need a wiki page to create a specification for a shared file metadata
interface that allows applications to read/write/search file based metadata.

At the moment there are several competing projects (Beagle, Kat and Tenor) being
developed to provide a metadata framework that can supply such metadata and the
purpose of this spec is to provide a common interface (DBus based) and a common
set of metadata key names to allow applications to tap into this information
regardless of the underlying metadata framework.

oh okay  thats fine.

(Sorry I didn't realise it was a free for all.)

I will need a cvs account shortly as I have started implementing a freedesktop
indexer/metadata framework called Tracker which will implement the spec Im
writing. Do you want me to reapply for a cvs account in a few weeks time when I
have something codewise?
