Screenshot illustrating the problems.
It's horrible.
Did your GNOME version get upgraded as well? Can you attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and your /etc/X11/xorg.conf? Created attachment 3264 [details]
xorg configuration file
No I did not upgrade gnome at the time, only the xorg packages. I have now
moved back to version 6.8 (which continues to work fine), so it only makes
sense to supply the xorg.conf file.

Xorg log file -when running with 16 bit colour depth (OK).
I have discovered that the bug is to do with using a 24-bit colour depth (which
used to work in 6.8.x). I am now using 16-bit mode OK. The log attached is the
one for the correctly working 16-bit session. I can attach the log for 24-bit
colour depth if it helps.
Are you still able to reproduce this using a modern version of xorg? (In reply to comment #5) > Are you still able to reproduce this using a modern version of xorg? I am no longer have the Sony Vaio, as I exchanged it for a newer laptop. This bug no longer affects me. Closing this bug as there are no hardware to verify it on. |
