You should ship this with Zeitgeist itself since not only is Zeitgeist a hard dependency, but also you'll only want this observer running if you actually have Zeitgeist installed.
Telepathy was designed to allow observers like this to be shipped separately.

Problem is Zeitgeist doesn't ship loggers. Just the engine. We have a silly process that monitors gtk.recentmanager but that is also shipped and developed separately. Our gedit logger is shipped with gedit, rhythmbox, banshee and totem loggers are shipped as plugins with the respective applications. I ported the logger to vala and made it part of the zeitgeist-datahub process (the one that also observes Gtk.RecentManager and KActivityManage) https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50563 |
