Btw, if I load that blob into libatasmart-0.18-2.fc17 I get BAD_SECTOR_MANY and 282013244 sectors, see [1]. Dan: what libatasmart version are you using? Do you also get BAD_SECTOR_MANY if loading the blob? (skdump --load=/path/to/blob).
