Is this with a specific document or with any document (even empty)? If the former, could you attach an example here? If the latter, what is the default font? It happens even with empty documents. My default font is Linux Libertine G. Downloaded from "numbertext.org/linux". Version is 2012-01-16. For the test, Could you try by disabling/removing lo-menubar ? (heard about some problems with it some weeks ago but perhaps it's not linked) Could you try by disabling all the extensions you have ? BTW : did you try with a brand new LO profile (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) ? Following your request gave the following results: lo-menubar idsabled - extensions enbled: (In reply to comment #4) (Accidentally hit Save...) Following your request gave the following results: * lo-menubar disabled - extensions enabled: Crash * lo-menubar disabled - extensions disabled: Crash * lo-menubar enabled - extensions disabled: Crash I've done a complete reset of my profile as well, but the results are the same. Could you try to have a useful backtrace (ie with symbols) by following this link ? http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#How_to_get_backtrace_.28on_Linux.29 However, I see this (but perhaps it's not linked) : /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../share/extensions/menubar/Linux_x86/menubar.uno.so(+0xf01e)[0xafe1501e] /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../share/extensions/menubar/Linux_x86/menubar.uno.so(+0xf9b2)[0xafe159b2] Are you sure you completely closed LO after disabling menubar (no soffice thing when you runned ps -ef in console) ? Full backtrace while reproducing the steps leading to the problem
The above is a backtrace produced by following the steps described in your link. At the time I had all extensions disabled, and the lo-menubar package purged from the system. I admit, I haven't got the debug debug symbols installed. If they are really necessary I'll install them (the package I have in the repository is called libreoffice-dbg), but that will have to wait 1-2 days and in the mean time, I wanted to give you something to work with. What you see in the original bug report is indeed the menubar, it was active (so as the extensions) when the program gave this terminal output. After you asked me to do so, I properly uninstalled (purged) lo-menubar, and disabled extensions for further tests. Created attachment 61196 [details]
Terminal output with lo-menubar and extensions Disabled
I've also attached a terminal output produced after a full systems restart to ensure, that nothing remained in memory from the previous session. First thank you for your feedback. I don't know if the best thing to do now is to ask you to give a try to LO 3.5.3 by using PPA (see https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa) because I think that some bug crashes have been resolved or to install the LO 3.5.2 debug symbols packages. c++filt _ZN14GraphiteLayoutD2Ev GraphiteLayout::~GraphiteLayout() suggests a problem in graphitelayout, but I can't reproduce it (In reply to comment #11) I already have the 3.5.3 installed, though it didn't came from the PPA, but from the distribution's official proposed updates repository. In comment #12, Caolán McNamara pointed out that there is a problem with the graphite layout... (The rest is in my reply to that comment) (In reply to comment #12) To reproduce the problem, you wold need the Graphite enhanced version of the LinuxLibertine fonts. (It can be downloaded from: http://numbertext.org/linux ) You gave me a clue though, so -since my default font is Linux Libertine G- I've set my default font to Arial, and tried to reproduce the problem, but with no success! This time the dialog window appeared, and -though I haven't tested everything- seemed to function perfectly normal. For testing purposes, I've removed the Graphite version, from the system and installed the version available in the repositories (fonts-linuxlibertine; 5.1.3-1), which are -according to the description are OpenType fonts. With these fonts, I was again not able to reproduce, the problem. Could be a problem with LibreOffice's Graphite engine(?)/subsystem(?) ? (Sorry if my terminology is lame) What should I do next? If necessary, I could revert back to the Graphite font, Install the Debug packages and do a full backtrace. Please advise. (In reply to comment #14) To rule out some other possibilities, I've re-enabled lo-menubar and all previously disabled extensions. Testing showed no problems. Dialog window and functions were normal. I changed title and put at new because it seems there's a pb with Graphite/LinuxLibertine version in fact I must recognize all this is not clear for me. Don't hesitate to update. downloaded http://www.numbertext.org/linux/e7a384790b13c29113e22e596ade9687-LinLibertineG-20120116.zip unpacked it and put the .ttf files into ~/.fonts, changed my default UI font to use it, make sure I had build with --enable-graphite but couldn't reproduce a crash (or warnings under valgrind) with a master build anyway @moltenice80@gmail.com: Do you still encounter this bug? Or is it solved now? No feedback since more than 1 year, I put it as WFM |
