Like in MS-Office, one cannot insert other office-Docs (*.ods, odt, doc, docx, xls etc.) as an Icon.

MS-Office embeds a document, and displays it as an Icon, clicking on which, one can open and edit the embedded document.

In LibreOffice, Office-Documents are inserted directly as documents, tho, it works fine for PDF or other kind of Non-Office documents.

For complex documents management, this is a Must-Have feature.

I also have the same problem.
In Word, I can insert an arbitrary file, including zip files, PDF files, binary files, whatever I want, as an icon.
This is a must for many technical documents.
I can distribute one file which contains everything referenced.
