Currently Evolution Address Books are supported as sources, but only if they are local. It would be nice if we could use CardDav/WebDav address books as a source within Libreoffice. I don't know if this could be handled as an extension of the Evolution plugin, or if it would need to be handled as a separate module altogether. It would also be nice to use CardDav as a source for mail-merge.

Thanks

I would like to have carddav as an addressbook source in LibreOffice too.

Using Evolution is not a good way, e.g. because Evolution is only available for Linux. And you would need to install Evolution, even when you are using another programm for E-mail.

A native driver would be the best, maybe using a library like pyCardDAV.

Another way would be using ODBC or something like that. But so far I know there is no carddav driver for ODBC.
