pkg-config-0.20, Solaris 2.8

Solaris's nroff (or man) generates an empty file from the pkg-config.1 man source:

% nroff -man pkg-config.1 | wc
       0 0 0

groff v1.19 on the same platform generates a useable result, but with the
following errors:
pkg-config.1:275: warning: numeric expression expected (got `l')
pkg-config.1:286: warning [p 4, 3.1i]: cannot adjust line

Oh, I should say I checked this with the nroff from the Heirloom project, which uses the old code from OpenSolaris:
