Carl, do you want to proceed with this? PHP bindings for cairo is the starting point to make it replace gd :). Hi Andreas, I'm sorry I had neglected to notice this request from you. Do you have some code we can review for this? I don't remember seeing anything on the cairo@cairographics.org list yet. Please send to there a pointer to what you have so far and then we'll be happy to process your request for an account. Thanks, -Carl Hi Carl, in the meanwhile i got a review of some pecl (php extensions) developers and in fact somebody is currently doing some kind of new graphics extensions which is also based on cairo and he has much more code which made my stuff more or less senseless: http://phpvolcano.com/blog/index.php?/archives/38-PIMP.html Unfortunately he still didn't release an alpha version of his extension although he said he planed to make it the default graphics extension for PHP 6. Due to the fact that i needed cairo for my php project i didn't throw my extension away but only implemented what is needed for my project. I hope that he will at some point release it. That will be the point when i will throw away my extension. In the meanwhile i released what i have on sourceforge (ug...evil). sf.net/projects/klecks so i don't really need an account anymore. OK, I'm sorry we didn't end up helping out this time around, (particularly as we could have helped avoid letting useful code land on sourceforge!). Do let us know if we can do aynthing in the future, and hopefully we'll do better that time. -Carl |
