Description Jerry Haltom 2004-04-27 05:47:38 UTC
Yes, I realize application/pdf is there. However, it seems as if x-pdf is good
to have also. I have a specific instance of a peice of software (Adobe Acrobat
Reader) which processes types of x-pdf by default (on Windows), and a web
application in use which doesn't open the PDF right because it uses x-pdf.

Standardization appears to be in progress to make this application/pdf - so
that, currently bogus, will become legal and the correct one to have. In the
meantime, Acrobat themselves have application/x-pdf, and it's likely to remain
for a while.

Jonanthan, is the best fix for this to to create an alias for application/x-pdf ?

like <alias type="application/x-pdf" />

right after the line <glob pattern="*.pdf" /> in
freedesktop.org.xml.in.

Comment 3 Jonathan Blandford 2004-08-11 06:32:56 UTC
yes, that's right.
Comment 4 Christophe Fergeau 2004-11-01 13:36:48 UTC
Fixed in CVS.
