It was for about one month ago. Facebook suddenly stopped working with telepathy-gabble and kde-telepathy on my Gentoo Linux (stable).

The problem doesn't exist when I trying to attempt connection with google talk.

Is it still broken?
Have you tried removing the account and adding it again?
Comment 2 Alexandre Dufournet 2013-10-13 17:25:54 UTC
same here, it seems to have stopped working a few months ago.
here is a topic where other people report the issue : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1336766#p1336766

Step to reproduce :

My distro (arch) is up to date, I removed the account and re setted my profile by removing everything looking like "empathy", "gabble" and "wocky" in my profile.
Creating the account via GOA was still triggering the error.

here is my telepathy log http://pastebin.com/yEYELNQc
(token voluntary altered)

possible cause :
It seems that facebook has changed the way to connect to their service.

It is still broken, on Fedora 19 x86_64.
Comment 4 Michael 2014-04-12 05:44:11 UTC
I had this same issue and found that by inadvertently turning off the Facebook Platform for privacy reasons, it disabled Telepathy chat. The fix was one click for me. The full bug report is here:
