It would be good to have a .dmrc or similar again in the users home directory in networked setups. In this particular case there are about 7 PCs and which are used by users randomly. This means that storing it on the local PC is not a good choice.

There are some things that need to be handled:
 * We have nfs+kerberos, so AccountsService cannot update .dmrc itself. This needs to be done during session setup.
 * .dmrc may not be readable in such a setup, a fallback to a locally stored file would be good (I guess it could be configurable which files should be used, or simply use the newest of both)
 * bug #58021; resolve networked users correctly

Accountsservice was invented to stop using $HOME/.dmrc, so I don't see us going back to it.
