Is this a regression? And can you maybe attach a screenshot/short video with the jitter - jittering on DP sounds very strange ... Created attachment 73366 [details] Picture of mode 1920x1200 jittering (In reply to comment #1) >>>> Is this a regression? I test with some older -next-queued branch kernels, they all have this issue. In this round testing, we use monitor(Model NO: 3008WFPt) which supports more display modes, and then find this bug. The old monitor we used, doesn't support this display mode. I can't find a good commit, so I don't think it's a regression. >>>> And can you maybe attach a screenshot/short video with >>>> the jitter - jittering on DP sounds very strange ... I have attached the picture in attachment. Hm, that looks rather interesting. Is the image stable like that, or does the pattern change? Also, is the white text sharp/normal (can't see it too clearly)? Created attachment 73369 [details] white text showing on Monitor(3008WFPb) (In reply to comment #3) >>> Hm, that looks rather interesting. Is the image stable like that, yes. I can reproduce every time. >>>or does the pattern change? On Monitor(3008WFPb) this picture is static state like the attached. On Monitor(2408WFPb) the screen have a bit jitter, but not heavily. >>>Also, is the white text sharp/normal (can't see it too clearly)? On Monitor(3008WFPb) the white text is a little shifting. On Monitor(2408WFPb) there are a lot of dot jitter in the white text. You can see clearly in the photograph from attachment. Created attachment 73370 [details]
white text showing On Monitor(2408WFPb)

On Monitor(3011)the screen have a bit jitter, but not heavily. Sorry, I miswrite the monitor mode. Monitor(2408WFPb)------->changed to Monitor(3011) > > > >>>Also, is the white text sharp/normal (can't see it too clearly)? > On Monitor(3008WFPb) the white text is a little shifting. > On Monitor(2408WFPb) there are a lot of dot jitter in the white text. On Monitor(3011) there are a lot of dot jitter in the white text. > You can see clearly in the photograph from attachment. DP modes with extremely high clocks don't work for me too, on *all* gens. I've investigated this for some time and the mode set sequence all seems correct. Maybe our watermarks can't handle these modes, this is the next thing I'm going to investigate. Hi Does the following patch fix the problem? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=74877 Thanks, Paulo (In reply to comment #8) > Hi Does the following patch fix the problem? > https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=74877 Thanks, Paulo I'm sorry that our monitors which support mode 1920x1200 are broken, so I can't test if the patch can work well. I will test when we have new monitor. (In reply to comment #8) > Hi Does the following patch fix the problem? > https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=74877 We have fixed our moniters, found that the issue may be caused by the moniter. I tested older kernel(Kernel: (drm-intel-next-queued) fa22c28522f53b63c1b287da1b69dc5700eaa09f) again, DP can work well. So we can close the bug now. Thanks. We have updated CPU, info as follows: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:0412] (rev 06) Thanks, Paulo Ok, closing this for now, please reopen if you see this again, thanks.
