Description Miroslav Vadkerti 2013-02-21 10:21:34 UTC
While joining our domain (SECURITY.BASEOS.QE) we cannot access our samba share via \\DC\testfolder. We have to use \\DC.SECURITY.BASEOS.QE\testfolder. This is because we are missing "search SECURITY.BASEOS.QE" in /etc/resolv.conf.

This is not very nice and we think realmd should configure this somehow to be as easy to use as possible.

version:
realmd-0.13.2-1.fc18.x86_64

In the future, I think that realmd will venture a bit more into coordinating management of the system via a domain and pulling down configuration and policy from the domain. This feature will be part of that.

Until then, best practice is to use DHCP to set appropriate domain servers for the domain that the machine is on.
