I'm sorry, the argument that works is "-screen 0 1024x768x24", NOT "-screen 0 1024x768x32". With x32, I only get "Fatal server error: Couldn't add screen 0", but that's probably another bug. The problem is still present with My version of xvfb is 2:1.19.3-1ubuntu1 according to dpkg -l *xvfb*.
