As the API has been extended since the 1.0.0 release, the current SOVERSION 0.0.0 should be increased to >= 0.1.0.

Should we maybe release a 1.4.1 with the updated SO version?

1.6.0 already has this setup; and actually bumped the soversion to reflect the API break.
