Seems you didn't attach linked "file:///C:/~base de composants/composants.ods" file.
Comment 2 Joel Madero 2013-06-28 18:03:28 UTC
We need the entire test kit - putting as NEEDINFO - once you attach other document mark as UNCONFIRMED and we'll try it out

Please, do not reply by e-mail and use Bugzilla bugtracking system directly.

Cannot reproduce the problem.

Both files open fine for me on OS X 10.8.4.

When opening the document in question I get a msg: "This file contains links to other files. Should those be updated?"

click "Yes"

"The following files could not be loaded. Die linked files from this file were not updated.
file:///~base de composants/composants.ods"

Not sure what to make of this, but so far it doesn't seem to be a bug.

Coriton: Could you please try this again on your system using http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/ LO 4.1.0.1.

Let us know if the bug persists.

Could others test this? I don't have enough experience with linked file to judge this on a sane basis.

Could you test as follow:

When opening the document in question I get a msg: "This file contains links to other files. Should those be updated?"

click "No"

Then, in the edit menu, select "links". In the new window, select "Modify ..." and enter the new path (for your PC). And then, click on the "actualize button" , and you wait, you wait ....for a quarter.

When all links are updated, shut the links window.

After, in the file menu, select "record" and you wait, you wait, infinitely ...

Hi Coriton,

I reproduce this behaviour with LO 4.1.0.1 & Windows 7 Home Premium.
So I have created a simplified test (7 entries to verify) to allow performance measurement. I get 7 seconds on my computer. So for 250 entries...

Tried also to put on Sheet2 column B from composants.ods and updated links. Naturally, in this case, on opening document, work is done.

But this is just a test, not a working sheet.

Regards,

Jacques

Hi Jacques

I don't understand the test "Tried also to put on Sheet2 column B from composants.ods and updated links." What's the interest ?

I tried the version LO 4.1.0.1. The links with composants.ods file lasts only 3 mn (very good). But when I close the links window and in the file menu, I records the file, I wait, I wait, infinitely ... and why ? There is no link with another file at this moment. In the Administrator of spots Windows, the processor ratio is equal to 57% and the green scroll bar is stopped at mid-term (file record).

Best regards

Jean-Yves CORITON

Hi Jean-Yves,

First point: To ditinguish internal links from external ones and verify there is no other issue with this file.

Second point: I tried also with LO 3.6.6.2 Portable.
Here, Modify... in Edit > Links to change the place of the source file is achieved in fifteen seconds. But when I try to scroll up into the doucument, to see the first entries, LO slow down very much. This can be repeated two or three times. After, without ask, LO try to save the file and cannot achieve it. We have to close the application, as you described it. A similar behaviour has been reported in
Bug 66094 - Crash when scrolling to a file with auto-updated links in it
which is already in MABS LO 4.1. (MAB: Most Ennoying Bugs)
So I set status to NEW, Importance to Critical, High. I hope this is the correct setting. This has to be to verified.

Best regards,

Jacques
