Description Dotan Cohen 2013-07-11 07:36:12 UTC
Some users click Writer's window chrome X button when they intend to close only the Print Preview feature. Please add an option for closing only the Print Preview and not the entire application to the dialogue that pops up in this case.

Thank you.

Hi Dotan,
Thanks for writing the report.
How do you think about the current button 'Close print preview' ?
Should its visibility be improved?
Regards,
Cor

@Dotan: Does the feedback from Cor resolve your issue?

Steps Done:
1. Open WRITER
2. Go to FILe -> PAGE PREVIEW
3. Go to "Close Preview" at the top below the menu to close the preview

(LO 4.2.2.1, Win 8.1)

No, the feedback does not resolve the issue.

Users (that is: multiple users in different departments) that have moved from a popular proprietary office suit to LibreOffice try to close the Print Preview view by clicking the window chrome X, despite having been shown the Close Print Preview button. I suspect that their previous office suite taught them this behaviour, however I have no way to check. In any case, LibreOffice is behaving contrary to user expectations, leading to frustration and another straw on the "LibreOffice-is-hard-to-use" camel's back. We should be working to reduce those straws whenever they are encountered.

I can agree with that :)
